These are a collection of some of the sketches i made while visiting the beautiful Abbey botanical gardens, Tresco, Isle of Scilly. The place was overwhelming and i kept getting distracted by red squirrels, but eventually managed to create these pieces.
This work was rather experimental as my eye was caught by the contrast between the bright flower and decaying tree trunk but at first i was unsure of how to capture this. I went with a (almost) continuous line method, to create a connection between all the elements and keep the drawing free and flowing.
